The zombies have this bad habit of waking up just as you're stepping over their corpses. Keep your eyes peeled for the growing pool of blood under their bodies--that means that they're down for the count. Of course, one of the best ways to handle the slow-moving zombies is simply to run past them. Tip: Use your ears when you switch to a new camera angle. Often the view won't let you see what's ahead of you, and you might just walk into a zombie who's feeling peckish. But if you listen carefully, you could hear him in time to raise your weapon and pop off a few rounds before advancing. Tip: Unless you're not into the game, don't waste time playing it in easy mode--the weapons are too powerful too soon and the ammo is unlimited, so there's no challenge. If you want to get the true flavor of the game, play it on normal level...alone...in the dark. You'll be glad you did. Tip: Don't forget to use those "magical" storage bins to manage your inventory. You can carry only a few items at a time, but you'll find a good use for nearly everything you can find in the game; so grab it all and dump the extra goodies in a bin whenever you find them--whatever you dump in one of the bins will be in all the other bins as well (remember, we did say they were magical).
