Hints & Secrets
Handicap in Battle
After choosing either Tag or Team mode, select one character (or even two, if playing in Team mode). Afterwards, press the option button, and you'll play down a man (or two).
Blood Code
To access blood in the game, simply change the language to Japanese in the internal settings of the NGPC.
Hidden Characters
There are eight hidden characters. In order to play as them, you must beat the game and at the end, a picture of one of the characters is shown covered with blocks. It will randomly remove a few blocks, the higher the difficulty the more blocks. When all are uncovered you get that character.
NOTE-this is completly random. The characters are Yuri, Akuma, Akari, B.B. Hood, Geese, M.Bison, Orochi Iori, and Evil Ryu.
NOTE 2: Due to the random nature of the removal of blocks, unlocking one character may take a good number of tries. A faster way to unlock characters is by obtaining enough points in the Olympic Mode, then trading them with any version of Card Fighters Clash, and then trade card data back to The Match of the Millennium via the Pocket Link option in Card Fighters. Depending on how full your Card Fighters deck is, you might get up to all eight secret characters at once in MotM.
Movie Cinema
Press Option right as you see the SNK Vs. Capcom logo (It may take a couple of tries). You will be able to select any of the ingame cutscenes with any character or team.
Movie Select using neo pocket monochrome and color
Insert cartridge a neo geo pocket monochrome and message error is displayed (at japanese version this secret is displayed), after use a neo geo pocket color and press OPTION when the "SNK vs Capcom" logo appears when turn on the game and should have been finished and saved: Movie Select, 8 scenes of story mode with any fighter, tag, team, etc.

Easter Eggs
Athena's Alternate Outfits
When Athena performs her Shining Crystal Bits super, there is a random chance that her sprite will transform from her default clothes into different outfits. The Level 1 version can change her clothes into a swimsuit, gym uniform, or her original 1986 bikini. The Level 2 version can change her clothes into a miko robe or a Santa costume.
Ryu's Olympic Homage
Whenever you get a high score in Olympic Mode, you can view it in the Record Menu. This typically shows a character sprite of whoever you used standing atop a first place pedestal. If you do this specifically with Ryu, however, it will have a unique display. Instead of featuring Ryu, it'll have M. Bison and Sagat standing on the second and third place spots, looking for Ryu. This is a recreation of his ending from Street Fighter II.
Purple Nakoruru
Unlike with other characters, choosing Nakoruru's alternate color does more than just change her palette. It also completely changes her profile art, and makes her win quotes more aggressive and violent. This is a nod to Samurai Shodown III, in which Nakoruru's purple version has a darker personality and different playstyle.
Unlockables
Faster character selection
You have to finish game on Gamer difficulty.
Unlock the Endings
At the 5th fight, you'll face your rival. If you lose to him, you'll get a bad ending after beating Bison&Geese. But if you beat your rival, you'll proceed to the real last boss after beating Bison&Geese, and you'll get the real ending.
Alternate Credits
There are two alternate versions of the ending credits that will be unlocked once you've completed certain tasks. The Secret Credits will appear after you've beaten Tourney Mode and unlocked all the hidden characters. It will show the portraits of either SNK or Capcom characters, depending on who you played as. The Final Credits will appear once you've beaten Tourney Mode 100 times, and will show a mix of SNK and Capcom portraits regardless of who you've chosen.
Alternate Movie Select Unlock
If you don't have a Neo Geo Pocket Monochrome handy, there's another way to unlock the Movie Select. After you've beaten Tourney Mode 100 times, reload the game. When the SNK VS Capcom logo appears in the opening, press the Option button. This will unlock Movie Select, which lets you view the various scenes and endings of all the characters. Note that if you use Stage Select to skip to the end of Tourney Mode, it won't count towards your progress.
Hidden Tourney
Once you've unlocked every single hidden character, Tourney Mode will automatically be upgraded to feature them as regular opponents. However, Geese and M. Bison will still only appear as bosses.
Master Skills
Each character has a unique Master Skill super that can only unlocked by earning enough Versus points via playing the Olympic mini-games, and spending them on individual moves. You can only hold 9999 points at a time. Once you've gotten enough, go to the Master Skill menu to look over which moves you can get.
You can choose anyone's move, regardless of whether you earned points with SNK or Capcom characters. Master Skills are Level 2 only; once a move is unlocked, you can refer back to the Master Skill menu in case you forget the input.
