You must be playing down the pitch for this cheat to work.
If the opposition scores a goal, wait until your number 9 prepares to kick off again, press down, right, fire and then hold down. As the ball reaches the oppostions number 2, he will pass the ball to the keeper, who will miss the ball, thus an own goal being scored.
